Weddings
Posted by Jeannette on March 28th, 2009 at 12:18Jeannette continued her travels in Australia with her trusty Palmtop communication aid.
Her son Jeff got married to Samantha on September 14th at a wonderful venue on the harbour in Sydney across from the Opera House. She said the wedding was fantastic. The communication aid was a great success, but the volume got turned up to maximum at the wedding by mistake. Jeannette via her machine was heard to say “Look at my son” and everyone had a good laugh.
Comment?Rain in Sydney and Bush Fires
Posted by Jeannette on February 16th, 2009 at 16:13Mike my husband arrived from the UK on Monday and would you believe, it hasn’t stop raining since he got here, just hope it fines up for my son’s wedding day on the 14th. As you know how desperately the poor people in Victoria need this rain. I could go on and on about that, knowing now that some of the fires were started deliberately. It beggars belief.
As for me I am having a wonderful time and seem to have been able to gad about all over the place. On the 22nd we are hoping to have a big open house here at our friend’s house that will save us having to go here, there and everywhere. We can catch up with everyone in one go.
Mike is waiting for the HOT weather we keep telling him about, could be next week but it was a bit much for me. 40 deg is a bit over the top so most people stayed at home or in the shopping centres, like me, well I did need some new clothes, didn’t I?(smaller size) now I just have to get them home. I have posted 2 boxes sea mail already because excess luggage is so expensive.
Palmtop is going non stop, boy, it really has helped me, when I am out and use it, people are fascinated by it.
See you all soon and remember me to the MND team and all the people who have MND.
Comment?Communicate with a Palmtop

At last, news from me. My feet don’t seem to have touched the ground since I arrived, so many family and friends to catch up with, some days I must admit I get a little tired.
The weather is very HOT, like 39 degrees most days, so air con is the order of the day. My little Palmtop has amazed people and everyone answers me without a thought that it is not my voice. Jeff my son has been able to work out a lot more functions than you could imagine!!!! What a very clever piece of technology it is and I feel privileged to have it and guard it with my life, as Mike said it is now my life line
Paul, the chap I am staying with, has just come in after trying to clear the garden of broken branches. The poor chap is dripping from the heat. He is very close to the bush so has to aware because of bush fires, once they start there is no stopping them. Luckily he does have a pool so if one did start near us, the pool water would at least save the house. Because it has been so dry no one is allowed to have a fire in the open, including a BBQ
Love and Best Wishes to everyone at the Clinic and from the Branch

I am now in Australia visiting family and am at last able to send E mails. I had a wonderful Christmas with my family and grandchildren. It meant a lot to me being able to talk to them with my Palmtop.
I am moving on to friends soon and am not sure about how the E mail contact will go. There are so many people I want to see!! So I shall be travelling around a lot.
Hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year. Did you see the fireworks from Sydney on New Years Eve? They were really amazing. The last couple of days have been so HOT around 40C, thank goodness my friend has a pool.
